About Me

A Life Shaped by Art, Culture and Curiosity

Much of my life has been shaped by movement between art, design, publishing, photography and cultural projects, guided by a deep curiosity about creativity and the stories behind it.

With an Honours degree in Philosophy from Stellenbosch University, and further studies in Art History and French Civilisation at the Sorbonne and Fine Art Photography in Havana, my background has developed across disciplines, cultures and creative worlds.

From early work in Paris and London to later roles in Cape Town across design, publishing and cultural production, that journey has gradually evolved into an independent practice centred on art, culture, storytelling and ideas.

Ideas · Creativity · Global Conversations

From 2015–2016, I worked closely with Ravi Naidoo, founder and CEO of Design Indaba, one of Africa's most influential platforms for creativity and design. The role placed me at the centre of an extraordinary international community of designers, artists, architects, thinkers, speakers and media. It was an immersive introduction to a global creative conversation and the power of ideas to connect people across disciplines.

Art Africa — Business Manager

Art Africa

Contemporary Art. African Perspectives.

Following Design Indaba, I joined ART AFRICA, a publication dedicated to contemporary art from Africa and the diaspora.

As Business Development Manager, my role extended across the magazine, the Art Africa Foundation and the African Power Station creative agency. This deepened my engagement with contemporary African art and the wider ecosystem that surrounds it — artists, collectors, galleries, art fairs, cultural organisations and audiences.

Art · Culture · Global Exchange

My cultural work has also included project management for the International Delphic Council, the organisation behind the modern Delphic Games — a global platform for artistic and cultural exchange. Conceived as the cultural counterpart to the Olympic Games, the work involved the development and delivery of Delphic cultural projects in South Africa, across disciplines, arts, performance, partners and audiences inspiring a global vision.

A New Chapter

Now based in the United Kingdom, I find myself at the beginning of an unexpected new chapter.

As custodian of an extensive private collection of African and Oceanic art and material culture, my work now centres on documenting and researching the collection object by object, while exploring attribution, provenance and possible future pathways for each piece.

It is both a curatorial project and a process of discovery. Some objects arrive with histories attached, others begin with only fragments. What continues to fascinate me is following those clues — understanding where an object comes from, what it may have meant, and how it became part of a private collection assembled over decades.

Working with this material requires sensitivity and care. More than identifying objects or determining where they might go next, the deeper purpose is to preserve the story of the collection itself and to connect the threads — so that something of their history travels with them into the future.
